PM Roble appoints Ex BBC journalist government Spokesman
Somalia Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has appointed Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu as the Spokesman of the Federal Government of Somalia.
Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu who is a former BBC Somali service reporter secretary general of the Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ) was alsoappointed senior media advisor to the PM
"The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble, has appointed Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu as the Spokesperson of the Federal Government of Somalia," a statement from the Somali Prime Minister's Office said.
In a statement the former BBC journalist welcomed his apoointment and thanked PM for the position.
"Since 1995 I have been working with international charities and the media both inside and outside the country, so God willing I will spend the rest of my time working for the government,” Moalimu in statement.
“The media and politics are not far apart and some universities have been in contact for years, many journalists eventually end up in politics, and I became one of them.”
