Somali gov't extends condolences to families of the prominent Somali singer who died in Germany

The popular Somali singer Abdi Ali Bal’awan has passed away on Wednesday night in Germany. The singer has been undergoing treatment in the past weeks in Mainz town hospital. The Somali government offered condolences to the family and relatives of the late musician saying he had played a very important role in the country's art of music. The Minister of information, culture and tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia HE Abukar Osman Dubbe has sent his condolences to family and friends of the late Somali Artist Abdi Ali Bal’awan. “The Artist was one of the nation's greatest innovators and left an unforgettable legacy for the Somali people, “said Minister Dubbe speaking to Radio Mogadishu. Baalwaan was a singer, author and composer, and his music was one of the compositions of the famous African song Huruooy. He was one of the pillars of the Waberi band in the 1980s. He was born in Wardher in the Somali region of Ethiopia.
