President Farmajo signs law delaying constitution amendment

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Thursday signed a new deal a presidential decree delaying the approval of the Amendment Constitution. The reason given is that the election season has entered, the term of the 10th parliament is coming to an end, and the term of the 11th parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia begins. The president also submitted a draft of the Independent Constitutional Review Commission to the 11th parliament. "Without prejudice to Article 136 of the Provisional Constitution, the President postponed the approval of the constitutional review and submitted to the 11th Parliament the draft prepared by the Independent Constitutional Review Commission. The law, signed by the president, became effective on Thursday and repealed the law and any law that went against it.
