Suicide bomber kills 3, including official in Southern Somalia

At least three people have died and seven others wounded on Monday after a suicide bomber detonated in front of a mosque in Kismayo, officials confirm. Among the victims include Jubaland's chamber of commerce chairman, Shafi'i Rabbi Kaahin who has succumbed to serious at the hospital injuries and civilians. Jubaland state president Ahmed Islam Madobe has extended his condolences to the families and friends of the deceased. ''Today terrorist attack has killed Jubaland chamber of commerce chairman Shafi'i Rabi Kaahin, we extended our condolences to families and friends of those lost their lives in the attack,'' Ahmed Madobe said in a statement. Al-Qaida linked group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibly for the attack via its online media. The attack came a day after eleven mortar attacks hit in different parts in Mogadishu in a span of ten minutes. Alshabab is fighting to overthrow the central government which is backed by U.N. The militant group frequently conducts car bombs and gun attacks in Mogadishu and elsewhere in the long-chaotic Horn of Africa nation.
