Popular Nairobi shopping destination Eastleigh closed due to coronavirus

Eastleigh, the biggest shopping destination in Nairobi popular with Somali investors has closed for an unknown period die to the outbreak of coronavirus.
This places the lives of millions of families who depended on the $100 million daily worth of business at risks.
The Eastleigh Business Community has now resolved to close down all businesses in the area until further notice as a means of combating the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The community, through their Secretary General Omar Hussein, said they had undertaken the move without notice so as to avoid panic shopping by the residents which would lead to disregarding of government directives on social distancing.
They also asked the government to begin fumigation of the streets and garbage collection as they will be urging their people to stay at home.
The Eastleigh Business Community further wants the government to start mass testing for Covid-19 in the area since their population is relatively high.
Most Somalis in Kenya have invested in the area and are likely to be affected even  reduces the amount of money sent to families back in Somalia.
