Wadajir Party supports government position on diplomatic raw with Kenya
Somalia leading opposition party Wadajir Party has thrown his weight behind the government position in the diplomatic raw with Kenya.
In press statement, the party said it supported the affirmation by the Federal Government of Somalia that it would protect its territory and integrity, against accusations by Kenya that some of its oil blocks had been sold off by Somalia.
Last week, Kenya recalled her envoy to Somalia and kicked out Somalia Ambassador in Kenya, arguing that Somalia had sold some of oil blocks in her territory.
On Sunday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released an elaborate statement in which they expressed shock over the accusation by the neighboring country, arguing that they will have not and will not seal any deals on the oil fields on the disputed areas.
Both countries have a case before the International Court of Justice over the disputed boundary, and Wadajir party said that the two countries must continue living in harmony, adhering to whatever decisions that would be made by the ICJ.
The party also commended Kenya’s role in helping in the stabilization of Somalia over the years and urged for speedy resolution of the thorny issues
