Somalia Condemns Al-Shabab attack on Nairobi
The government of the Federal Republic of Somalia has condemned a terrorist attack on an upmarket hotel complex in Nairobi by the Al-shabab on Tuesday.
In a statement, the government said “This heinous act of terror which routinely targets innocent people once again reveals the hideous face of terrorism”.
By Wednesday morning, at least ten people had been confirmed dead and several others hospitalized with gun wounds. The attackers, for in number were still holed in the hotel complex, exchanging fire with the Kenyan special forces.
It continued “The Federal Republic of Somalia extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes speedy recovery of the wounded, affirming its full solidarity with t the government of the Republic of Kenya in its war against terrorism”.
According to eye witnesses, the suspected terrorist arrived in two vehicles and forced their way in to the 14 Riverside Drive by shooting at the security guards. They then hurled explosives at vehicles at the parking before making their way in the hotel.
