Farmaajo Pledges Police Reforms As Force Marks 75th Anniversary

The Somalia Police Force (SPF) on Thursday marked 75th anniversary in a colourful event led by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo in the capital Mogadishu.
President Farmaajo pledged to push for reforms in the police force which is one of the oldest institution in the country.
Farmaajo said that the government strives to elevate the force to world class standard including equiping the officers to be able to fight crime.

“The Somali Police Force is the mother of all the various forces of Somalia. The force is a symbol of Somalia’s recovery as we know the force has been able to protect the archives of the Somali police force,” Farmaajo said
He referred to the force as the pilllar of law and order in Somalia.
The event at the Koonis Stadium attracted a large number of Mogadishu residents who dorned in the blue and white colours of the Somali flag
The Somalia Police Force was estbalished on the 20th December 1943.
