Speaker Mursal Restricted From Leaving House, Pro Impeachment Motion Mps Claim
Somali Mps backing the Farmaajo impeachment motion said they were forced to jump over barriers put outside the Speaker's official residence seeking to meet him. Speaking to the media in Mogadishu MP Khalid Omar claimed that the Speaker had been "detained" by security agents.He said they were barred from meeting the Speaket by security agents. A second Mp Mahad Salad claimed that Speaker Mohamed Mursal had been "restrained" from leaving his residence and that Mps backing the Farmaajo impeachment motion were denied access to the Villw Hargeisa. "For more than 24 hours ,the speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Mursal was confined to his house which is located inside State house" Salad posted on his official Facebook account. "We managed to meet him after jumping the barriers which were closed in his house" he claimed in the post. Salad said they will not be cowed into their mission seeking the firing of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo. "It is pity that the Speaker of National Assembly is being treated that way and who is the second in command of the country" his post said. " It seems to me the country is placed in a dark place.All the small laws of the country that bided us has been over looked. But we have a strong voice which says we won't accept that and we won't accept being coerced or bullied. Somalia will never be gorverned by Force .God Willing" he concluded. Political tension in the capital Mogadishu is heightened after 92 Mps filed an impeachment motion against President Farmaajo accusing him of "violating" the constitution.
