Somalia Now A Comesa Member
Somalia on Thursday became the 21st African country to join the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Africa's largest trading bloc.
Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire led the Somalia delegation to the Lusaka Zambia Summit .
Khaire officially signed on behalf of the Somalia government to usher the horn of Africa country's membership.
“[This] is a testimony to our relentless efforts to rebuild our nation and a true indication of our commitment to taking our rightful place in the growth of our region and our continent,” Khaire tweeted.
Tunisia also joined the trading bloc alongiside Somalia.
Established in 1994 COMESA is the fastest growing economy in the world
