Health Minister Fowziya Visits Zoobe Bomb Blast Victims In Sudan

Somali Minister of Health Dr Fowziya Abikar Nur and a delegation she was leading visited victims of Mogadishu’s October 14, 2017, bombing in Khartoum Sudan, Radio Dalsan reports. Dr. Fowzia visited Royal Care and Al-Mu’alim Hospitals where the victims are being nursed. Speaking to the media, the Minister thanked the gov’t of Sudan and all the doctors and nurses who were treating the patients. She also thanked the Somali community in Sudan who took the initiative to stand up for their brothers. According to the Ministry, 85 Somali patients are undergoing treatment in Sudan. “@AbikarDr on a visit to the victims of the October 14th, 2017 attack in Mogadishu. A total of 85 Somalis were evacuated and treated in the Republic of Sudan.” Dr. Nur tweeted. The Minister also visited the Sudan Public Health Institute in a bid to seek training opportunities for Somalis. “At the Public Health Institute in Sudan today, there was a detailed discussion on the various medical courses that could benefit Somali students and health practitioners. Currently, up to 4,000 Somali students are pursuing degrees in the Republic of Sudan” the Minister tweeted. The delegation was received by Dr. Mrs Fowziya’s Sudanese counterpart Mr. Bahr Idris Abu Qardah. They discussed on how the two ministries will have a good work relation. Minister also met with ministry staff and visited privately owned medical drugs manufacturing companies.
