Puntland Police Boss Shoots Deputy In Brawl With Governor
The Deputy Commissioner of the regional state of Puntland in north eastern Somalia was on Saturday shot by his boss the Police Commissioner in a gun drama in Garowe. Radio Dalsan's reporter on Garowe says an argument ensued between Police Commissioner Abdiqadir Shire Farah "Ereg" and the Governor of Nugal Omar Abdullahi Farole at a security conference in a Garowe hotel. The argument escalated into a brawl with the police boss drawing his gun to shoot at the Governor. The Deputy Commissioner Bills who was present was caught up in the gun drama and was shot. Deputy Bille sustained injuries on his leg and was rushed to a Garowe hospital for treatment. The incident transformed Puntland regional state capital into tension. Commissioner Ereg and the Governor of Nugal have for long not been in good terms with past incidents of gun attacks on the later been blamed on the police boss.
