We Will Revenge Be Warned Farmaajo Tells Alshabab

A tough talking Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo on Wednesday issued a stern warning to militant group Alshabaab following the deaths of 300 in the Saturday Mogadishu truck bombing. Speaking to thousands of Somalis who had thronged the Konis Stadium in the capital Mogadishu Farmaajo said his government will set aside $14M to defend civilians from terror attacks. "This attack is a reminder that in the past we did not react swiftly. This time we will swift and hard in response" he said. His message targeted the youth and in a plea requested them to devoid radicalism and instead build Somalia. “Its time the youth to stand up for your mothers your sisters and brothers and defend your religion.” he said. "We can only win the war against Alshabaab if we unite. If we do not they will continue with these attacks.” Farmaajo told the crowd. He expressed his gratitude to the international community, the Somali Army and civilians for their response in the wake of the October 14 attack. Somalia ended three days of mourning on Wednesday as country emerges from one of the deadliest terror attacks in the world in recent years.
