Death Toll in truck Bomb Hits 270+
The death toll following the Saturday deadly truck bomb has hit at least 200, medical sources and government officials have confirmed. A counter check by Radio Dalsan at the number of bodies received by six different hospitals in Mogadishu indicated more than 270 bodies. VOA quotes Deputy Speaker of the Upper House as putting the death toll at more than 230 people. Medical sources say more than ore 200 people were injured in the massive explosion. A truck loaded with explosives went off at the K5 Junction destroying buildings including the Hotel Safari at a highly populated area. Somalia is in mourning as it faces its worst terror attack in its history and for three days flags will fly at half mast in commemoration of the dead mostly civilians. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
