Regional Ministers Boycott Constitution Conference Over Strained Relations With Federal Govt The Somali National Constitutional Convention scheduled for Sunday may well commence but without the participation of Ministers from the regional states. Several Ministers from the regional states who spoke to Radio Dalsan said they will boycott the conference citing current strained relations with Federal government related to the Galmudug and Gulf crises. "We have sent our request to the Federal government to postpone the conference to a later date" Abdullahi Sheikh Hassan told Radio Dalsan in an exclusive interview. " We are not ready to be part of the Conference until we amend fences with the Federal government" Hassan added. Somalia's Justice & Constitution Minister Abdi Tosh announced on Friday that the conference will kick of from October 8 to 10. The meeting is to bring all Justice and Constitutional Ministers to brainstorm on the review of the constitution. Federal government and the regional administrations have ever since the emergence of the Gulf crisis be at loggerhead with other states defying Mogadishu's neutral stance.
