Somalia Welcomes First Night Flight in 27 Years
A Juba Airlines flight became the first commercial passenger aircraft to land at the Mogadishu Aden Abdulle Airport at night in 27 years. The flight from Dubai landed on Saturday night with passengers aboard. This development follows finalization of a series of reconstruction and security improvement at the airport by the Somalia civil aviation. The news of the first night flight excited many Somalis in and out of the country Security was beefed up in and around the airport by NISA agents as history was made. Following the eruption of civil war in 1991 Somalia night flights were banned for security reasons. Most of the airports and airstrips were also run down and were in need of reconstruction.
