Ware Elected as Hirshabelle Regional State President

Ware Elected as Hirshabelle Regional State President Mohamed Abdi Ware is new President of Hirshabelle Regional State of Somalia.   He defeated eight candidates who showed their interest in the position vacated by former President Ali Abdullahi Osoble after ousted via vote no confidence by the parliament.   Mr. Ware who promised to changed defeated his close contender Dahir Awale to 74 to 23 votes with 18 cast votes nullified.   Federal Government of Somalia has welcomed his election.   Interior Minister Said Juha and Internal Security Minister Islow Ducale were present during the entire process and praised the outcome.   They urged the Hirshabelle residents to close work with the new administration.   The election was conducted at Jowhar, the headquarter of the Hirshabelle state of Somalia.   Meanwhile former President Ali Abdulahi Osoble who is currently based in his home town of Beledweyn has described the results of the election process in Jowhar today as “drama” saying his is still the legal President of the state.
