#ReclaimSomAirspace trending after ICAO Hesitant on Final Transfer Process

Young Somalis who feel International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is trying to jeopardize final airspace transfer process to Somali Government in Mogadishu have shown their anger via social media. ICAO led team was managing Somali airspace control from neighboring Nairobi since the collapse of the central government in Mogadishu in early nineties before the government of President Abdullahi Farmajo demanded for the full transfer of the airspace control to the capital this year. According to Somali Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (SCAMA) the process is in the final stages and is set to fully transferred to Mogadishu by October but reports have emerged that due to the concerns of the self-declared state of Somaliland ICAO officials are hesitant and may use the excuse to continue controlling the Somali airspace in Nairobi until agreement is reached. https://twitter.com/cadow10/status/904675639541854209 Sources have confirmed that Mogadishu which still believes Hargeisa is part of larger Somalia will beallocated 30 percent income of the airspace earnings to boost local economy of Somaliland to iron out the difference and address their concern. #ReclaimSomAirspace is trending in social media directing critics to International Civil Aviation Organization based in Canada for what they believe as intended delay while calling speedy transfer. https://twitter.com/AkramCartan4/status/904391034855153664 https://twitter.com/mohamedhashi252/status/904378660311924738 https://twitter.com/Moshireh/status/904453918482149378 https://twitter.com/cadow10/status/904359148753739777
