US Withdraws Alshabab Alshabaab Leaders Robow Off Bounty List
The US Department has removed Mukhtar Robow Abu Mansoor longtime Deputy leader of Alshabaab former leader of the Somali militant group al-Shabab from tge bounty list that put a USD 5M on his head. VOA is said to have received a statement exclusively from the US State Department on Friday on the same. Somalia government is yet to issue a statement on this development. Radio Dalsan is however privy to information that the government has had a series of talks with the estranged Alshabaab leader. US had offered $5 million In June 2012 to anyone with information leading to his arrest. Robow has served as Alshabaab spokesman, spiritual leader and military commander. He became estranged after ideological differences emerged between him and slained leader Ahmed Godane. He has been exiled with militias from the rahaweyn clan in his home region of Bakool.
