Farmaajo Govt Records Highest Revenue Collection In Decades
The Farmaajo administration has managed to record the highest revenue collection in the last 3 months, Finance Minister Abdirahman Bayle announced. "In 60 days, we've paid all salaries backdated to since the beginning of this year. And that's a clear indicator that govt's income has gone up" Bayle said. The Minister attributes effective revenue collection to blockade of previous corruption dealings committed by government officials and others. "The income has risen because we've managed to reduce the bleeding caused by corruption we will then expand our goals on income generation" Bayle added. Speaking to the Villa Somalia Press Unit Bayle pledged more mileages by the Farmaajo administration. "I want to ensure accountability in all sectors of the government" he said in the interview. "Our aim is that we should be able to pay the salaries for our forces, MPs, govt employees, all ministries' running costs" the Minister said. " we are now working hard to be credible to the Somali people. If they trust us, we must then be accountable to them" he concluded. The previous administrations have been marred by allegations of corruption amd mismanagement. In his campaign manifesto President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo pledged to fight corruption and ensure all civil servants and military are paid timely.
