Detained governor and ministers stole $ 30k from relief food kitty
Two ministers in the South West State and the Deputy governor Marka town have confessed to having stolen up to $ 32000 money allocated to aid victims of the current drought. The three were arrested by Amisom personnel in Marca separately are been held at the El Jaale camp. They confessed to have stolen $8000 meant for each of the following distribution centers Barawe, Qoryooley, Wanwaleyn Marka and Afgooye. The three are members of the Drought Relief Committee in the South West region. Following their confession an agreement was passed to have them pay back the stolen funds in order to be released. The three are said to have used only $4000 for distribution but pocketed the rest from the total $ 32000.
