Abdulkarim Hussein Guled has resigned as the president of Galmudug state. In a statement sent to newsrooms on Sunday Guled said he resigned based on health issues. Guled had been diagnosed by doctors of having a heart problem in 2016. The statement was sent while he was away for regular heart check up in India. This is the second time Guled had resigned from a government position. In May 2014 he resigned from being minister of security when he was under pressure from MPs criticising an insecurity surge.
