Mortar shell hit near Mogadishu International Airport ahead of IGAD meeting
Several mortar shells have hit near Mogadishu International Airport on Thursday. Eyewitnesses have told the media that three shells meant for the airport which also hosts AMISOM headquarters hit surroundings. One person has been confirmed wounded in the fired shells. On Wednesday shells also hit near Somali Presidential Palace. Security Agencies have not commented on this latest development. IGAD head of states are expected in Mogadishu next week for annual IGAD meeting.
